Help Beer Blotter: Where Would You Have a Beer in Washington DC?

birreria paradasio lives in the basement of this renowned pizza house. we should go, right?

Beer Blotter editors recently booked a trip to Washington DC. We would like your help finding the right places to spend our valuable time.

Certainly there are a lot of resources on where to visit in our nation’s capital – but we would like a bit more personal of a reflection on the fine establishments in DC.

RateBeer.com does not lists any one DC establishment in its Top 50 for 2010 (though Columbia, MD’s Frisco Cantina is close by).

In recent Top 50s, the fans have put both Birreria Paradiso and The Brickskeller. Needless to say, we will be going to these places, as both are in close proximity.

But what else is out there? What cannot be missed? Please let us know!

Leave a comment or send us an email at beerblotter@gmail.com.

Thanks for the dialogue.

IN D.C.: Churchkey, Brasserie Beck, The Black Squirrel and a ton of others. Across the river close in VA there’s Rustico, Galaxy Hut, Dogfish Head Alehouse, Bilbo Baggins…

More and more great places to go around here. Hope you have a great time!

Hey there! As a Seattle native and a DC resident, I’d love to meet up with you guys for a beer while you’re in town! I’d recommend visiting The Big Hunt for a true dive bar experience with great beer. Or if you’re looking for a more upscale outing, Brasserie Beck has an insanely good beer menu with fantastic Belgian food. There is also Granville Moore’s for an unbeatable beer with mussels n’ frites experience.

Oh, and as another reader noted, The Black Squirrel for sure. But as for Birreria Paradiso, I would skip the Georgetown location in favor of the new Dupont Circle location. http://www.eatyourpizza.com for details. Cheers!

      Deverie –

Unfortunately we might miss the Black Squirrel since they dont open until a bit later on Friday. But we were definitely going to visit the Paradiso in the Circle as opposed to Georgetown. Thanks for confirming that choice!

Feel free to e-mail us at beerblotter@gmail.com and let us know when you will be around to grab a pint! We’d love to see a Seattlite in DC!
